Gage Season StARTer OFFICIAL T-Shirt Design SUBMISSION FORM

ARTWORK SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Sunday, September 6th 2020, 9:00pm PST

For the first time ever, Gage is holding a t-shirt design contest! To go along with the annual Gage Season StARTer event (now virtual), we invite artists of all ages and backgrounds to submit a design for the contest. 

The theme of this year’s event is HogwARTs Academy: Choose-Your-Own-Path Online Art Adventure! Throughout the journey, artists will create a magical scene alongside the art guidance from their favorite Gage instructors. BUT- along the way, there will be a villain that will try to distract the artist from completing their creative journey!

This is where you come in! Help us design the official HogwARTs Academy VILLAIN. Use your creativity, imagination, and get inspired from some of your favorite characters such as the Joker, Darth Vader, or He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. You may use any medium to paint, draw, or sculpt the villain, as long as the design is an original piece of artwork by YOU. The final submission should be uploaded as a high-res .jpeg or .png image file (we recommend scanning the design on a printer/scanner if the work is 2D).

The winning design (chosen by the staff at Gage Academy of Art) will be the featured character throughout the Gage Season StARTer event. The winner will be announced on the GSS Event Page (https://archive.gageacademy.org/hogwarts-academy/) and Gage Instagram (@gageacademy) on Thursday, September 10th. The design will also be screen-printed on the Official 2020 GSS T-Shirt, which will be distributed to some lucky students after the event. The winning artist will also receive an Ultimate Artist’s Supply Kit, filled with back-to-school tools and materials you will need to continue on your artist journey.

Artists may only submit ONE design to the GSS T-Shirt Contest. The design must be of a villain character, illustrated, painted, or sculpted from the imagination and creativity of the artist. The design must be an original creation. The artist may use any medium to create the design, as long as the design is submitted as a .jpeg or .png file type.

All designs need to be consistent with the excellence and integrity of the Gage institution at the highest level of propriety and kindness.

At our discretion, we reserve the right to kindly remove any designs incorporating ANY of these elements, including but not limited to:
No usage of middle fingers or offensive gestures
No underage people drinking
No excessive alcohol consumption
No smoking
No pictures with cigarettes or illegal drugs in them
No images of people acting inappropriately, intoxicated or not in the right state of mind in anyway
No illicit, provocative or inappropriate behavior that makes the audience uncomfortable
No racial slurs or offensive language
No guns or violent activity of any kind
No bullying or discrimination of any kind
No sexualizing of our brand or the word “Gage”
No spamming, soliciting, promoting your business or anything outside of what is dedicated to be a safe space to discuss, show, create and love each other

Please upload a .jpeg or .png image of your submission. The image MUST be properly cropped, good resolution, not blurry, and color should be portrayed accurately. The image will be displayed on the Gage website, and potentially screen-printed on t-shirts.

SUBMISSION AGREEMENT – CONDITIONS OF SUBMISSION

By signing this document, the Artist acknowledges that the design submitted to the GSS Official T-Shirt Contest will be displayed in an online public space, and that there is a potential for the Artist to win the contest and have their design printed and distributed by the Contest Host: Gage Academy of Art. The Contest Host: Gage Academy of Art is not liable for any content downloading that may occur.

A. DESIGN

The Design shall be defined as an original artwork, created in any medium but uploaded as an image file, to be submitted to and owned by Gage Academy of Art by the Artist. The Artist must be the legal and original creator of the Design. No usage of stock images or enhancement of pre-existing images will be permitted. The Design must be an original creation by the Artist.

C. VERIFICATION

The submitted Design must be the same as specified in the Submission Agreement. Gage Academy of Art reserves the right to not display a Design that is not identified on the submission form, or does not follow the submission guidelines.

D. REMOVAL

The Artist agrees to waive the right to withdraw their design from the contest until its submission deadline date (September 6th, 2020). The Contest Host reserves the right to withdraw designs from the contest at any time.

E. PHOTOGRAPHY AND REPRODUCTION

Unless otherwise specified, it is understood that the submitted design may be displayed and reposted by the Contest Host in all media, including publication on the world wide web, television and film, for publicity purposes connected with the contest, and other related publications, for routine education, and for registrarial purposes. The image of the design will not be used for any other purposes unless expressed permission has been obtained from the Artist. If a design is labeled for display or publication, it will be credited in the exact format as it was presented.
